• Plaster powder
• Round or square mold (a deep disposable plate works great)
• Acrylic paint (optional for decorating)
• Water

Don't have all the materials? No problem.

• Instead of plaster → use salt dough (1 cup flour, ½ cup salt, ½ cup water). Bake at 150°C for 2 hours until hard.
• Instead of a commercial mold → use the lid of a large container or a deep plastic plate.
• Instead of acrylic paint → use school watercolors to decorate.

📋 Step-by-step instructions

1. Mix the plaster with water following the package instructions until you get a creamy consistency.
2. Pour the mixture into the mold and wait 3 minutes until it starts to thicken.
3. Ask your child to press their hand firmly and hold it still for 30 seconds.
4. Carefully remove the hand and let it dry completely (at least 24 hours).
5. Once dry, paint and decorate with the child's favorite colors.
6. Write the date and age on the back.

💡 Extra ideas

• Do it every year in the same month to see how much their hands grow over time.
• Make a handprint of mom or dad next to the child's.
• Paint the background one color and the handprint another so it stands out more.
