- Plaster powder
- Round or square mold (a deep disposable plate works great)
- Acrylic paint (optional for decorating)
- Water
- Brushes for decorating

Don't have all the materials? No problem.
- Instead of plaster β use salt dough (1 cup flour, Β½ cup salt, Β½ cup water). Bake at 150Β°C for 2 hours until hard.
- Instead of a commercial mold β use the lid of a large container or a deep plastic plate.
- Instead of acrylic paint β use school watercolors to decorate.
π Step-by-step instructions
- Mix the plaster with water following the package instructions until you get a creamy consistency.
- Pour the mixture into the mold and wait 3 minutes until it starts to thicken.
- Ask your child to press their hand firmly and hold it still for 30 seconds.
- Carefully remove the hand and let it dry completely (at least 24 hours).
- Once dry, paint and decorate with the child's favorite colors.
- Write the date and age on the back.

- Do it every year in the same month to see how much their hands grow over time.
- Make a handprint of mom or dad next to the child's.
- Paint the background one color and the handprint another so it stands out more.
