• Instead of lemon juice → use orange juice, milk or white vinegar — they all work as invisible ink.
• Instead of a light bulb → use an iron on low heat or ask an adult to carefully hold the paper near a candle.
• Everything you need is probably already at home.

📋 Step-by-step instructions

1. Squeeze the lemon juice into a small container.
2. Dip the swab or toothpick in the juice and write your message on the paper.
3. Let it dry completely — the message will disappear as it dries.
4. To reveal the message hold the paper near a light bulb or apply gentle heat with an iron.
5. Watch as the letters slowly appear in a brown color.

💡 Extra ideas

• Write secret messages to each other and take turns revealing them.
• Try different liquids and compare which one appears most clearly when heated.
• Explain to your child that heat oxidizes the lemon juice and makes it change color — just like an apple turns brown in the air.
